Global Warming - Cool It! & ACF Campaign & Information
In January 2007 we collaborated with marie claire's Cool It! campaign against global warming issues. During that month over 38% off our visitors clicked on the link and educated themselves about the effects of global warming and how to make a difference. This campaign & petition will be sent to the government which is run jointly with the Australian Conservation Foundation calling
for our Government to invest more in green energy.
The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is an Australian organization which is run to educate and help people understand the necessities in creating a healthy environment through awareness and education. For 40 years they have become a strong voice for the environment, promoting solutions through research, consultation, education and partnerships. They work hand in hand with the community, business and government to protect, restore and sustain our environment.

Red Cross Blood Donation.
Did you know that only 3% of the population in Australia donate blood?
The gap between the number of blood donors and the number of Australians who need blood is set to widen, according to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service (ARCBS), unless Australians step up their efforts as blood donors.
Recent government forecasts suggest that demand for blood is expected to more than double in the next ten years. "The forecast increase in demand means that Australia will need around 2 million individual blood donations each year to ensure that people, young and old, have the lifesaving products they need to survive.
Now that's a scary thought. Most people think blood donations are used to help people who suffer traumatic incidents, such as car accidents or 3rd degree burns, or to be used in surgery. But in fact, the vast majority of blood donations go to people with major medical conditions such as cancer, heart disease, stomach and bowel disease, liver and kidney disease, people with hemophilia and to newborn babies and pregnant women.
Currently, a little more than half a million Australian blood donors give just over 1.2 million donations. Half a million donors represent around 3.5% of the eligible donor population, compared with an average of 4.4% for other comparable nations. "If the proportion of blood donors in Australia was equivalent to the international average, and if all those donors gave blood four times a year, then we would have sufficient donations to meet forecast demand.
Here at Claire Francoise we're trying to raise awareness and encourage our eligible clients to give blood four times a year. Together, as a community, we need to ensure there are sufficient blood and blood products, voluntarily given by Australia's donors, to meet the medical needs of our community. If we care enough about our community to give something back to it, being a blood donor, or becoming a blood donor, is a very practical way to show it.
