Many of us suffer from some level of black heads, milia (little white bumps) congestion and enlarged pores. Even those of us that have dry dehydrated skin. Congestion is not only limited to oily and or acne skins.
Why do we get black heads?
A common concern for many skin types, black heads occur when your pores become clogged with excess sebum (an oil created by the sebaceous glands that keeps skin supple) and dead skin cells. Blackheads can be very small, or become quite large and can sometimes turn into a pimple.
Treatment for Congested Skin & Enlarged Pores
One of the most vital steps in keeping black heads, milia and congestion from building up on the skin is to cleanse. At night our skin heals itself and if there is still all that dirt, make-up and build up on the skin. You’ll be healing that into the skin creating clogged pores, black heads and milia.
You could also be using the wrong products, sunscreens or certain make ups, toxins all which can be very clogging to the skin, mineral make up is best.

Home Care Advice
The first step is using the correct cleanser. This is one of the most important basic skin care steps and the ‘double cleanse’ at night is vital. Cleanse once to remove the daily dirt, grime, pollutants, sunscreen, make up and oil, the second to flush out the residue that has settled into the pores.
Avoiding drying out products that contain Benzoyl Peroxide which can be very irritating to the skin and cause redness. Utilising products that contain a vitamin B5 and salicylic acid will help to promote clean skin, balance sebum and gently exfoliate without the irritation.
