What do you need to know about tattooing your eyebrows?

Eyebrows have flourished as a big obsession over years of late. It's become that one staple part of the makeup routine that many girls would be horrified to leave unfinished before venturing out of their home.

Thick eyebrows are still a much-coveted trend, alongside the likes of supermodel-turned-actress Cara Delevingne who is known for her naturally bushy brows.

However, it's safe to assume that this craze is now dying down, with more and more people embracing their natural shapes. But, one thing is for sure - it would take a lot for a brow-obsessed woman to leave the house without filling in their brows, thick or thin.

What can you do about sparse brows?

Finding the right product for your brows can be quite difficult. It has to match your eyebrows, which isn't necessarily your hair colour. Then there's finding a product worth spending the dollars on - you'll be looking for longevity, ease of application and a natural-looking result.

There is also finding the effort to get out of bed five minutes earlier to have enough time to fill in your eyebrows. It can be a tedious job, especially if you have fast growing brows that get unruly and need trimming down. Focus is needed to make them perfectly even, so no one brow is more bold than the other.

That's why cosmetic tattoos have risen in popularity so much. They save you both time and money when it comes to trialling brow products and spending precious sleep-in minutes trying to make them look as natural as possible.

What should I know about getting my brows tattooed?

It's not just a matter of turning up to our chic Melbourne clinic to get them done. You'll need a tattoo consultation first - this establishes any medical conditions that may interfere with the process, and also helps you to know the whole process inside out before making an informed decision.

The consultation also takes a look at your brows and skin surrounding them. Scar tissue can be harder to tattoo, and requires a different approach. Looking at your shape, individual hairs and growth direction is also something to take into consideration, so we can make a plan of action tailored to your specific brows.

It is in no way a rushed process, and patience is the key to getting your brows filled in whilst looking natural.

The initial tattooing visit can take multiple goes, just to help you achieve perfect brows. In about four to six weeks, you'll need to come back in for a touch-up, just in case any small tattooed hairs have faded.
